If there is one phrase I have heard in almost every ceremony I have ever sat in it is:

Ayahuasca told me...

It often arrives at the end of a long ceremony, or three days later on the phone, or years later in a story… Ayahuasca told me I am a healer. Ayahuasca told me to move to Brazil, to stop speaking to my mother, to sell the house, or often to start serving the medicine. And because these words arrived in a state that felt more vivid, and even more real than ordinary waking life, they are received as beyond question. To doubt them would feel like doubting God.

I want to express something that may be unpopular in the world of plant-medicine work, and I say it with tremendous love for this path, to which I have given my life: not everything we receive in ceremony is true.

It is always profound; some of it is genuinely of the astral, and genuinely for us. Yet, some of it is our own subconscious wearing a costume of cosmic authority, speaking to us in the borrowed voice of the sacred because that is the only voice we will finally sit still and listen to.

Learning to tell the difference is not optional; it is the work itself.

After walking the path of Ayahuasca for almost two decades now, I’ve found that often, when we relate to Ayahuasca as medicine, calling her “La Medicina,” we confuse her purpose and misunderstand her truest nature. Ayahuasca is a spiritual path, not a magic pill or an experience that will magically fix us. Though healing occurs while drinking Ayahuasca, it is not the goal, nor the destination. It is a symptom of walking the path with sincerity and dedication.

I often hear participants or those who have walked away from this path say that it essentially “didn’t work”. That they didn’t change, or the results they were after did not materialize. “I have sat in this many ceremonies – and I didn’t change”...

This point of view shows us a profound misunderstanding of what it means to walk this path: expecting ‘magical results’ or a quick-fix solution that will happen on its own simply by virtue of drinking Ayahuasca.

Insight is not transformation - You can have an extraordinary realization and remain exactly the same. Transformation happens when insight becomes action, practice, and discipline. When what you saw leads to different choices, and eventually, a different way of living.

Celestial Heart is officially protected by US law

After years of dedicated service, unwavering faith, and legal perseverance, the Church of the Celestial Heart has formally won its legal battle for recognition as a fully protected religious organization under United States law.

As of May 5th, 2025, the Church of the Celestial Heart is officially protected by US law. Our sacramental use of Ayahuasca within sacred ceremony is authorized and acknowledged by both the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Department of Justice. Our sacred work and sacrament are now protected by the same constitutional and regulatory protections afforded to all recognized religious practices in this country.

This historic victory is more than a legal milestone — it is a sacred affirmation of the path we walk together as a spiritual and global tribe of devoted hearts to the path of Ayahuasca. It honors the integrity of our practices, the depth of our devotion, and our undeniable right to commune with the Divine through our Holy Sacrament, Mother Ayahuasca.
